Joshua 4:14

14: On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.

Comment:
From the day Moses came down from the mountain, having seen the Lord in a burning bush the people “feared” him.  Do you remember why that happened?  Maybe you recall the movie “The Ten Commandments”  (but probably most of you are way too young!) ,,,anyway I so remember the picture of Moses as he came down from the mountain.  He had a glow that came off  him so all knew that he had been in the presence of something…and of course, we now know that it was the presence of the Lord, that shown around him.

Do you “shine” with the light of the Lord?  Do people “fear” you?  I hope you understand what this verse means and what I mean by “fear” here.  It means that people will know there is something different about us.  Some people may actually “fear” what we have, as some people are afraid their sins will shine as bright as the light of the Lord, if they come around us.  But others will be drawn to us, wanting to know more of what we have.  Of course, that kind of light only comes from spending time with the Lord, just like Moses did on the mountain top.   We don’t even have to climb any mountains, we just have to stop long enough to read His Word and give Him time to speak to us!

Lord, I so want my light to shine as brightly as Moses did, so that people will be drawn to me, drawn to the peace you give me, so that I can lead them straight to You!  Draw me to you, speak to me so I can impact the lives of those around me.  Amen.
