Okay, so I did use cloth for some of the bigger kids but they were doggone expensive to buy a bulk of them to start so I ended up back with disposables because I could buy them in small dollar amounts! Also we only had the old fashioned rubber/plast…

Hello Midge,

I'm sorry I haven't been in contact. I love my job, can you believe I've been there almost a year already? Mounir is not doing so great in school, having a lot of behavior problems. We really need to discuss and I really need your prayers.

Glad you like to the picture, he really is a sweet, fun loving little boy who is growing up way too fast. You have to forgive me I am not very computer savy and I am trying work on my page. We just recently moved to a new house that we are doing some work too so I am still trying to unpack/find pictures to add to my page.

Midge,
Thank you for your sweet words. You can not begin to imagine how heartbroken I was to leave Florence, Erika and the many blessings we received there. My heart is prayerfully mending with each passing day. Being near the water is a "perk" if you can motivate yourself to wear a swimsuit. I am having to get out of my "pit" and begin running again next week. Will you pray for my heart and my attitude as we settle into this change. We are SO grateful for Mark's new job, and yes our new home (house). The car business isn't so great, so I am having to pray over my fears. Thank you for this outlet to share and be myself. I have so much to learn. Many blessings!

Hi! I learned about it through Maura. She invited me to join! I actually know you guys from growing up in Hilton Head. My maiden name was Brittany Fedor. Maybe that is more familiar? I am excited to have a place to talk with other moms about the everyday life of being a mom!

This is a wonderful idea. Erika sent me an invite and I must say "how fun!"
Your daughter -Erika is such a beautiful person. Your children really do reflect alot of your own character, so I must congradulate you on a job well done! Gotta run, kids to catch!

Welcome to the A CHILD IS BORN, Mothers Helping Mothers site!

Wow! I am so excited and pleased that so many of you have already signed up and joined this little community! This site was the result of a conversation I had with a woman at a meeting recently. We were talking babies, and nursing and birth and all the peripheral wonderful things that surround those little people and events. I was telling her some of my stories of raising 10 children, birthing and nursing 8,and having just been blessed with our 17th grandchild. She commented that I should come to NYC where she lives and I could work as a birthing consultant and/or a lactation consultant because there was such a great need.. This conversation really hit a nerve. I have been on a search for something that would really mean something to me and give me some connection to others with some sort of purpose, but I knew NYC wasn't an option...so, fast forward a couple of weeks and I found this platform. Ning is amazing! It gave me the opportunity to build a contact system with all these bells and whistles in no time.

As you can see it is really not all set up but I thought I would at least get my daughter's and daughter-in-laws to check it out and see what they thought. I thought I might "recruit" them to share their thoughts if they liked the idea. Well ,before I even recieved a return email, I found that they had joined the community, posted some discussions and we were off and running!

Even before I had a chance to introduce myself or the site! I was so blessed!
Already, you who are involved have embraced the whole idea, jumped in with the discussions, some of you have even fancied up your pages. Just as I had envisioned!

I hope this community will give us all a place to ask the more intimate, personal, and even technical questions that we mothers have from time to time. I hope it will allow us to develop friends near and far, share our days when they are good and when they are tough, giving us each the courage and strength to face the next day.

I hope to add all kinds of tricks and treats along the way as well. And I hope you will do the same.

Enough for tonight! Tell you friends to come along for the ride.

More tomorrow.

Love to you all.

Amazing Valentine's day ideas from Whittakerwoman

I just read Heather Whitaker's blog post at http://whittakerwoman.typepad.com. It is filled with ideas for Valentine's day and I had to share with any of you who might not read her blog. It is so creative! (and tiring for this old girl!) Hope you find at least one thing that you might add to your day. And I hope you all have a wonderful day of love and care from your families.

New Day - 5 Things to be grateful for today

1) Cold, clear weather! Grateful for it because I know it won't be here long! Yeah!
2) For my daughter Erika, (check out her blog) ho does a weekly family night that is so special for my grandchildren.
3) For tenacity, which I am praying I will get soon. I need it for challenges I am facing.
4) For more patience, which I am getting by force at the moment!
5) For my God who gets me through each day.
Blessings to all,
More later.

New RSS Feed

Hey all,
I have been studying and working on learning more about how these sites work and trying to make it more relevant for everyone here and others we hope to add to our community. I have added some RSS feeds to the space on the right. I am still trying to figure out the best way to do it but I have started. These items are from a site I visited called Simple Moms. It had some good information and I wanted to share it.
I am hoping to have this be a source for information both new and links to… Continue

5 things I am grateful for today

Just the other day someone sent me a note (who knows where it came from in the sea of messages) but it was a good one. The theory is that if you start your day thinking of some things to be grateful for you will start your day in a positive vein and it will carry through the day and maybe even change the course of the day (in case we got up on the wrong side of the bed as we used to say!)
It has taken me a couple of days to get it going so here goes:

!) I am particularly grateful that my son &a… Continue

Happy New Year (I know it's late...)

Hello all and happy new year!
I know it has been a good while since I have posted anything here but I have good excuses...or is there ever a good excuse to be quiet?:)
It has been a really tough couple of months but I am believing things are getting better. I lost my job just before Christmas but truth is I could tell it was coming and actually spent night and day working, hoping the extra effort would help business pick up and secure my position. Well, all it did was take all my time and still… Continue
