I just read Heather Whitaker's blog post at http://whittakerwoman.typepad.com. It is filled with ideas for Valentine's day and I had to share with any of you who might not read her blog. It is so creative! (and tiring for this old girl!) Hope you find at least one thing that you might add to your day. And I hope you all have a wonderful day of love and care from your families.

1) Cold, clear weather! Grateful for it because I know it won't be here long! Yeah!
2) For my daughter Erika, (check out her blog) ho does a weekly family night that is so special for my grandchildren.
3) For tenacity, which I am praying I will get soon. I need it for challenges I am facing.
4) For more patience, which I am getting by force at the moment!
5) For my God who gets me through each day.
Blessings to all,
More later.
PS. I added a devotional to my blog www.daufuskiedreaming.blogspot.c…

Hey all,
I have been studying and working on learning more about how these sites work and trying to make it more relevant for everyone here and others we hope to add to our community. I have added some RSS feeds to the space on the right. I am still trying to figure out the best way to do it but I have started. These items are from a site I visited called Simple Moms. It had some good information and I wanted to share it.
I am hoping to have this be a source for information both new and links to…

Just the other day someone sent me a note (who knows where it came from in the sea of messages) but it was a good one. The theory is that if you start your day thinking of some things to be grateful for you will start your day in a positive vein and it will carry through the day and maybe even change the course of the day (in case we got up on the wrong side of the bed as we used to say!)
It has taken me a couple of days to get it going so here goes:
!) I am particularly grateful that my son &a…

Hello all and happy new year!
I know it has been a good while since I have posted anything here but I have good excuses...or is there ever a good excuse to be quiet?:)
It has been a really tough couple of months but I am believing things are getting better. I lost my job just before Christmas but truth is I could tell it was coming and actually spent night and day working, hoping the extra effort would help business pick up and secure my position. Well, all it did was take all my time and still…

I had a great plan to tell you all how thankful I am for your participation in this little community as part of my Happy Thanksgiving post, but I just never got there. Almost two weeks ago I was hit by a bug that has knocked me out. I haven't been sick in years but this sure made up for it! I had a bug that made it impossible to eat anything for days and had to work through it...you know I was tired when I got home at night so no postings, no visits, just collapsing!
It sure did make me thankfu…

I have always consider myself very openminded. After all I was a hippie, lived through the age of Aquarius and all it's paraphenalia...but I continue to be stretched by my many children's choices. I often pray to have my boundaries stretched so I guess it makes sense. Well, last year one of my boy's broke the ice and got the first tattoo...obviously mom had lost control. Lot's of soul searching took place and the realization that I wasn't in control. Always a good lesson to chew on.
Well, that t…

One of my co-workers came to work this morning feeling poorly and quickly went down hill. She did not have a car so I offered to take her home. She was coughing and this was making her sick to her stomach. I remember some of my kids having these symptoms which was really fortunate because she continued to feel worse and worse on the way home. Since she had felt poorly the last couple of days she hadn't eaten much and was very dehydrated. Just before we left work she had taken some Robitussin. Th…

I must thank Heather, Stephanie and all her helpers for arranging this wonderful event. This event made me realize the significance of blogging more than ever before. We as a people are starving for connections. No matter how close we live to others in our house/condo/apartments we don't know them. Everyone is working so hard to keep life moving, we don't have the time to get to know each other at home or at work. While we can't normally visit with our neighbors at 12 AM we can go online and wri…

What's a Fickle Pickle you say? Well it is a restaurant actually in Roswell, GA. I am going to my first "Blogging Party" tomorrow night with my daughter Erika, some of her friends who are driving up from Florence, SC and a number of others from all over the Southeast. You see there is a blog that we all follow called, http://whittakerwoman.typepad.com. The owner of whittakerwoman, is Heather Whittaker and she calls it "I'm a Stalker, How About You, Blog Party". Just a little window to her creati…

I was so excited to see everyone post pictures, because I am a very visual person and it really helps me to see who I am communicating with each time. And of course I love that you post pics of all the little people because they always make my heart jump.
So I went on a search for a picture of myself so you all could see me. But alas, there are no pictures of me by myself. Now I realize my family (if they are reading this) are hooting and hollering, saying, you never let us take a picture of you…
